GhostChef
A generative conversational tool for kitchen creativity.
GhostChef lets you collaborate with a digital version of a chef — one that exists not as a voice assistant, but as a curated culinary intelligence with a distinct point of view.
The process started with five real chefs who simulated AI responses via shared documents — suggesting recipes and combinations based on user input. That generated curated datasets reflecting each chef's perspective, which were used to build distinct digital personas. Users could switch between them in a text editor to get different suggestions and autocomplete their cooking ideas.
GhostChef emerged from a six-month residency at Bits x Bites, a food and technology accelerator in Shanghai. Developed as part of YEAST with Lorenzo Romagnoli, Eric Sun, and Federico Duarte.
